This is a great place to ride when everything else is wet. There is no water anywhere, so carry extra. It is also a training area for trail runners and ultra marathoners. It is a combination of gravel and single track. Ironically, the single track trails are less steep than the gravel roads. I have seen Scarlet Tanagers here in April.
Favorite single track ride is a loop with out and back ends. It begins at the parking area off Hwy 327. Ride uphill 100 meters and turn right. At the first fork, .25 miles, take a left and continue for about a mile to a gravel road. Bear left and ride 50 meters past Gheen Access Road where you turn left again onto a single track.
Continue ascending the single track until you encounter another gravel road. Turn left and ride about 50 meters to Dyllis Orchard Road. Turn right and ride about .5 miles to the next single track on your left. There is a small orange birding sign marking the trail.
From the bottom of this descent turn right and climb Powerline (a steep gravel road) to Dyllis Orchard Road. Turn left and ride another .5 miles until you see a brick red gate on your right. Again turn left and enjoy a 1.5 mile descent. The gravel road at the end of the single track is the turnaround.
At the junction of Dyllis Orchard and Powerline Roads the easier option is to continue straight on Dyllis Orchard and retrace the outgoing route for a total of 11.3 miles.
